I found this photo in a 1958 publication by Jeff Cooper. Maynard Buehler was producing high quality scope rings and bases and would install them on very powerful rifles to prove that they could take the recoil. The Buehler production was at Orinda Calif and was rescued by Weatherby and now somewhat discontinued.
The rifle is an Enfield in 505 Gibbs with a short barrel, note the extended magazine and Buehler mounts. Photo shows a 30-06 next to the 505 GibbsInformation
