Not in production yet! At least according to the mfg's website.

Personally, I think adding extended or detachable mags to an otherwise good SKS is a fine way to make a boat anchor out of it. Nothing but trouble, they are. And unwieldy to boot. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen troubles out of "up-magged" SKSes. If the owner keeps it, he usually ends up putting the original type mag. back in.

One reason is that the bolt geomatry of the SKS won't let you seat or remove a mag with the bolt closed. Attempting to do so invariably results in destroyed feed lips.

But maybe this fellow has invented the more functional mousetrap? I still think you are better off with a Vz58. Far more ergonomic, if in the magazine well placement and nothing else...

i would say yes if it adapts to a real AK mag but no to a tapco mag that you have to modify. go get a SKS-D or a VZ instead.

actually marcus has some pretty interesting mods, including the "drop free bolt mod". i think this might solve the problem.
you might want to watch his video series. i found his videos very informative; to people new to the sks, like me.

here is part "A", watch them all, they're pretty good.

and no, i don't work for marcus in any way. this is not an endorsement.
all comments, good or bad are welcome.

Seems like an awful lot of work to mess up your rifle for little gain. When the last shot is fired, the bolt remains open thus allowing you to simply pull out the magazine an insert a new one. What purpose does it serve to remove and insert a new magazine with a closed bolt? Plus I question the long term effects of removing the guides from the bolt. They were put there for a reason.

A removable magazine does have some appeal to me if it is going to be reliable. I don't think it is something I would often use but the option would be nice.
