"So any configuration other than the way Harlan's looks means it has been through a rework at some arsenal? "...........that would entirely depend on the 'configuration' you have , these were not reconfigured in re-arsenal , they were re-furbished in their current configuration , or a slightly updated military configuration in some older rifle examples and stored as such for reuse and reissue to our allys , they did not get made into deer rifles

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I should have clarified. I have one with most of the parts parkerized. Some of the parts are blued, cut-off, both bands and swivels, extractor, bayo lug. Most of the action is parked except as noted. I figured it was reworked at some point, just didn't know if it was done by an arsenal. It is in mint condition. I'll try to post a pic.

Not just an idle question. I have one in very similar shape as Harlan's and wonder what those are worth..

I was wrong about the bayo lug. My fault. Here's a couple pics. It's in the 3.94 mil range.
