A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... They'd rather nobody had access to any guns of any description, old or current, working or mutilated. Foe them there is absolutely no downside to a blanket ban, it can't possibly do them any harm, and it might just do them a bit of good.

Think you may have your wires crossed there John, Martini,s and Sniders come under section 58, so don't need a Licence for collecting or ornamental use etc.
Just trying to give a few pointers to Jss on starting in the collecting field, If you have a good library and plenty of antique stuff such as the Martini etc., then it may help tip the balance to get the required slots on his ticket.

I have heard recently that a case was thrown out of court regarding someone who had an antique firearm in there possession ( was on display ) it was well over a hundred years old , but not on the obsolete calibre list, but the judge ruled on the word antique so the case dismissed, could be a lot more to that story but that was the basics I heard.

On the subject of obsolete calibres, there are a few who don't know that the .276" P13 can be held with no ticket, only snag here is the last one I know that was on the market was around £9000 only about £ 8900 over my budget.
