    A .30 cal cleaning kit will do the job.

    Original Sovieticon cleaning kits are available for cheap all over the web, check the usual suspects and eBay.

    You probably should take the rifle out of the stock for cleaning as most bore cleaners play heck with the shellac the Soviets slathered on the stocks.

    You can adjust the firing pin protrusion without the official tool, but you will need a depth gage or calipers (and know how to use them). The min protrusion is 0.075 inch and the max is 0.095 inch. See figures 40 thru 44 of the attached link.

    The 3 left side notches are for adjusting the firing pin depth the notch on the right is a firing pin wrench.
