    COLT/RAND again.

I made an offer. The holster says boyt 45. Is it real? The gun shop owner seemed to be sure it was.
I put the original replacement barrel (c in box) colt 1945 that was internal threaded at the muzzle? Don't know if you can see it in the pic?

It does look like RM at first glance.

Never seen RM markings on a M1911A1, who was that inspector and which manufacturers did he mark?

It does kind of look like RM but on closer inspection you can see the FJA ...

Yes FJA with a double strike on the A making me think when I first saw it think it was a RM. That mystery was solved in the original thread, I just wanted to post some better pics and get more opinion as to price if I was to buy it. It's a mixed shooter in what I consider good physical condition. I understand that a rebuilt with 2 different halves would be on the low side or priced in the poor bracket ( no rework stamp) but surely this would be better then a new replica that could be as high as $700. Or I should wait and buy an all original as my first 1911? Now the $600- 750 w holster will double or triple so plan b is save, save, save.

I have seen several all correct Remington Rands at the gunshows that are in 80% to 85% condition for around $900 to $1100. I would save my money and go for something that is actually collectible and will go up in value.
