    Ithaca 1943 Lend Lease

Hi guys, I am owning a nice M1911A1 Ithaca 1943 serial 1215xxx. Its a Lend Lease pistol supplied to Sovieticon Union. Can anybody tell me any info about shipment details? Thanks, George

Usual marking. No special marks. During WWII russians did not use their own marking on Lend Lease small arms.

According to lend lease data 12977 pistols were supplied to Sovieticon Union. But what is interesting that they never use it in combat. For example Tommy guns were used by Sherman crews.Tanks were equipped with that gun. But I have not found any info about usage of M1911a1 ( visiting many russian sourses). USAicon supplied pistols directly to USSR. I own the gun which on my opinion was never used.Pictures I ll post later.

The Ithaca pistols were not being shipped in numerical serial number order at that time, so the shipment your pistol would have been in covers the time period of November 1943 to April 1944. There are 1000 pistols in the serial number range 1215XXX , so finding it in the shipping documents would be impossible.
