    L42 wood question

Are the handguards for the L42 and the No 8 rifle interchangeable?

    Thanks in advance!

No - the No8 hanguard and forend (Top in photo, shared with the Envoy) are longer than those used on the L42 (photo shows Mk2 L39 wood, but the handguard is the same as L42).

Some of the early converted L42's had No8 handguards on that were converted to fit, this was done by shortening the handguard and recutting the band slot, then trimming of the overhang each side!

Would that be subtitled "An Armourer's Perspective" perchance? Have it, just don't have access to it at the moment!
