    M1A1 Value

I am looking at an Inland M1A1icon Ser# 256xxxx, walnut high wood, type 1 barrel band (needs replacing), GM barrel, push button safety, correct cannon wheel and firing proof, correct butt plate, oiler, rivets, 150 300 flip sight, flat bolt, early straight face slide, 2 rivet hand guard with deep cut.

That is all I know about it at this time. I have only seen a few pictures of it but the seller is going to get it appraised by a gunsmith and all of the parts photographed and cataloged using the Carbine Club inventory sheet as a guide. I have seven days to examine the rifle after I receive it. So far it looks pretty legitimate from the pictures . My question is this: What would be the value of such a rifle if it were all correct? She is asking $4K.

Do you have an extra X in the serial number you put up. Otherwise that falls into an Underwood block, not Inland.

I thought that odd too. I checked the serial numbers on the The US Caliber .30 Carbine website and they did not match up.

Unless it's 100% original and 100% original finish $4000 is way too high. Most are going in the $2000 to at most $3000 range. If your right on the serial number then it's not an Inland as stated. That would drop the price down to the $1500 range.

My thinking is for $4K it had better be a near perfect bring back and have Audie Murphy's name on it. (LOL) You all are confirming my suspicions. I am going to wait for the report and the pics to see if I am right.
