Does the name General Loyd Wilkerson ring a bell?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Not having been back into military rifles very long, just about any Enfield in good condition is my goal. I did pick up a LSA 1918 with a very nice BSA '42 barrel that has the magazine cutoff. Then Saturday I bought an excellent Nr 4 Mk II (Fazakerley) at a gun show. It's all matching with the nice adjustable rear sight and a great bore. I gave 325 otd. Hopefully I didn't give too much for it but the condition is nice. I also traded for a Nr 1Mk III* Lithgowicon '41 that is really nice on the outside but the bore would probably rate poor to fair. I should've looked better! I have 175 in it.
    Good hunting in your quest,
    DocBob

Beautiful ,Good find. What year? Manufacturer?I am not certian what it is about the Number 5 but I really am impressed by mine. Mine keeps calling to me "I need a bayonet". My responce "I may have to sell you to afford one." I trust you will provide a range report.
