Found two MAS 45 .22 LR Rifles...

Local gunshop. $400 w/ sling for one. $375 for other. First is virtually perfect. Second is maybe 95-97%. One magazine each. Ben wanting a .22 LR 1922 Springfield. Can't afford. These rifles as good/better? Information/suggestions appreciated.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Just ran by the shop. Prices quoted are wrong. Correct prices are $425 for either rifle. Each has front sight hood.

They are very good rifles for the price. But just as good as a Springfield 1922? Yes if you concider a Chevy Corvett as good as a Chevy Corvair. But for 400.00 or so it is one great rifle and 1/3 the price of a nice 1922. I have both. Frank
