A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. You can even do it to an old allen wrench. Works great.

The bolt dissemble tool has a screw driver at one end of the handle and the front sight tool at the other end, why make one?

As apprentices, we would all modify the original foresighjt adjusting tool by cutting the necessary reverse screwdriver slot in the end of the thumbscrew lever of the tool so that it was always with the actual tool. On the L42's we'd just replace the screw with a 4BA allen headed screw to lock it up.

We'd do it properly of course....., with a hacksaw and it'd be hardened and tempered afterwards...... and the quality of the work would be marked by the class teacher too! No butchery with a dremil then of course
