    I think there may have been some confusion following your original post where you said it was a No1 - it now appears to be a No4
    Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

    Sorry for the confusion. I can see your point.
    I didn't know Fazackerly (sp?) were making No1's in 1949. So I assumed it was understood I was referring to a #4 mk1.
    But again sorry for the confusion............
