A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. bigduke6, you are a true craftsman and I applaud your skills and offer my thanks for posting this thread. I restore vintage English 3 speed bycycles and had a similar issue withh a missing lug on the front fork. However, I took the easy way out and had an aquaintance who worked in a metal fab shop lazer cut several new pieces for me. If I had your abilities I would had tried your method.

As far as the press stud/locking bolt and spring, would you know if the ones you made or the sample Peter sent you work in all Enfield bayonets? I have a 1907 pattern bayonet that could use a new set. That being said, I would like to see your drawing.

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Thanks Gary,

True craftsman I,m not, but I was taught by true Craftsmen, I just enjoy keeping my hand in. Regarding the 1907 press stud/ lock bolt its different than a JC bayonet

The threads are different too. But the No5 bayonet catch was made with a view to simplicity and specifically with restorers in mind!
GBalke....., do you have a Hercules cycle? They made Bren Gun parts
