    Martini Henry Francotte Trigger Spring

I just bought an untouchd MH Francotte from IMA. While cleaning up the action, I noticed that the trigger spring has broken. Any ideas on where I might find a replacement or what I should use to fabricate a new part.

    Thanks.

I replaced my Belgian trigger spring with a Britishicon MH one without any problems.

Can you post any pics of the rifle?

I've looked at IMA and might buy one of the parts guns. I didn't see the trigger spring there, though.

The following photo is the only one I have so far. If anyone can tell me what the fish means, I'd appreciate it.

Gunslinger, For some reason your picture reminds me of a similar question but I think the mark was on a kukri. Someone responded that it was a buddest symbol. You might try asking on the british military board.

    I just checked.
IMA has them listed for the Martini Henry in Antique gun parts.
    At under $10 it`s worth a shot.

Spring ordered. I don't know how I missed it the first time around.

The Francotte Martini is not a Martini Henry. Parts are not interchangeable. You may get lucky and the MH trigger spring may fit and it may not. Good luck. IMA does not list a trigger spring for a francotte.

Well, I did not luck out with the spring. It turns out that it is either slightly shorter than the original or there is more wear on the trigger that only allows the spring to barely catch. Maybe I'll try to fabricate one out of some old steel flat stock. It's just going to be a wall hanger anyway.
