No 1 Mk 3 Hoskier Presentation Rifle

Ran across this ad and thought this might be of interest to Enfield collectors:

Breech of barrel stamped at the top behind the hand guard “REGULATED/BY FULTON”. Brilliant condition with 99% commercial blue. The Hoskier Rifle was awarded annually for a match put on by the the Stock Exchange Gun Club of London.

The ad contains several nice photos.

I have no commercial interest in this rifle.

    Regards

    Jim

I agree - most of the items listed on that site seem to be marked high.

A saying about charging wounded bulls comes to mind.

The extra strap over the front handguard is an interesting addition I haven't seen before.

Its normal on most target-prepared No1s. This rifle will have cork sheet or pads - or even small springs - between the handguard and the barrel. Without a strong extra band, the handguard bends and warps under the pressure of the extra packing.
