I used to grease the bolt lugs and corresponding channels in the receiver, as well as the lugs on the slide box and the channel the bolt lug engages in the charging handle area. I had milspec grease that came in small plastic containers with yellow plastic caps. They were about 2/3 the size of a thimble. When I ran out, I quit using it using grease. It was good stuff.

Ok I have a carbine that fails to feed from the right side of the mag on a 30 rd mag about half the time on a 15 rd mag with soft point ammo....Yes they are reloads....(15 grains of 4227 110 grain slug ....I have another carbine that feeds the same rounds without a hitch.......Ball fails always on the right about every 30 to 40 on 15 rd mags or 30 round mags...I have tried all solutions from this forum with no results.I am beat down by this carbine...Charlie.

It's usually best to stick to 15 rd mags, which are still cheap enough that no one has bothered counterfeiting them. Most of the 30 rd mags I see offered are aftermarket or counterfeit; it's not easy to tell the difference. A genuine Seymour (SEY) 30 rd mag in good condition will cost > $50 today.

Have you looked at the feed ramp for any possible nicks or dings that are catching the nose of the bullet stopping it? The other thing you can try is to polish the ramp to help feeding from a magazine and be sure your using USGI magazines. Also look at your magazine release to be sure it's not worn and is supporting the magazines properly. The only other magazines that are worth anything are the ones coming in from Korea as they are as good as USGI magazines. If this happens with ball ammo to you might want to check the recoil spring and be sure it's at least 10 1/4 inches longs. If it's weak it doesn't take much Resistance to cause it to stop working when the rounds are feeding into the chamber.
