    Thanks for the kind words on my Rifle! When I see Kanji, I usually make EVERY attempt at buying the article.... so far they are few and far between.
    That being said, I am posting some more clear shots of the rifle that I already posted...

    It looks like it was either touched up, or smeared while wet... Maybe even overlaid with new markings at one time. I WILL NOT make any attempt in this area to clean the rifle, for fear of lifting any Kanji.
    Here is the Type 30 bayo... but I fear that no photo can make it more clear than what was posted.


    I enjoy your speculation on what it says. I have been told previously that it is an archiac form of Japaneseicon and doesn't translate or translate well. However, even if it is a rack number, that is nifty to me!!

    Oh... and I never noticed it before... but the cleaning rod has a nice mark on it too!
