I don't know if anyone is looking for a Mk2 scope, but there is one at the moment on 'that site' in as new condition. The vendor knows what he is talking about & is absolutely reliable. I suppose it comes down to the old question of how much it makes, but I'd always rather go for a real one rather than a repro., even if it does mean waiting that little bit longer..........

Easily the nicest one I've ever seen...Nice enough to think it looked like a forgery... It was at 12ish a few days ago and now look at it...Nutty.
Of course, on G-broker, there's an unwrapped No.4 MkII that just sold for $1150 today..
Everything is more expensive these days...

Hello everyone ...

We encourage all members to post links to external auction sites, as we believe it helps collectors locate items they may need, especially with so many extra eyes checking the various Internet sales sites at the same time. Of course the downside is that it does send increased traffic to external sales or auctions, which in-turn can drive up auction prices, but overall, it's generally worked out well as a site policy.

In addition, to help protect our community, particularly the newer less experienced collector, we also encourage members to post links to items being sold that may be obviously fraudulent, or simply questionable as to authenticity or provenance. I've had several personal emails from new members who have appreciated being warned about pieces that they considered buying or bidding on, that after reading threads with some of our more "expert" collectors commenting on the issues of the offered piece, they backed out of a sale and saved themselves a lot of money and embarrassment of being taken.

For many years now, we've operated the Commercial Auction and Sale "Gossip" (click here) forum. It's designed to handle discussions specifically about external auctions and sales offereings. We'd like to try and keep these type of threads in that concentrated area for better site organization, as well as ensure that the informational forums are about research and questions, as opposed to becoming too commercialized.

Unfortunately, with so many varied types of collectibles, most people naturally find it easier to post in the specific informational forum that the auction or sale relates to. I can understand that and I'm as guilty as anyone, however with the new year starting out, I would ask members to please try and post references to external auctions and sales in the Commercial Auction and Sale "Gossip" (click here) forum, regardless of what the item is.

I would also ask moderators to move any threads like those, from the informational forums to the Commercial Auction and Sale "Gossip" (click here) forum, leaving a trailing thread link identifier for a month, so everyone including the original poster knows where it went now resides.

Edit: I forgot to add. If you use the small rectangular search boxes with the white backgrounds for both eBay and Amazon, located in the top left corner of the site, we get a small commission and credit from both companies, should someone actually buy something. It doesn't affect what the buyer pays and the seller receives. It's just an "associate" program both companies offer to help drive traffic to their own sites and it does help us defray several thousand dollars in annual system bandwidth, server, disk storage and monthly maintenance costs needed to operate our site. So, please keep that in mind if your going to search for and buy something, shop on either site.

I can vouch for the seller too, he's helped me out no end. There is a well known saying in the UK that I think was coined from a Ronseal wood varnish advert, 'It does exactly what it says on the tin' and thats what you get from this seller.

As I own a MkII scope refurbished by the seller to a similar standard I'm sure the one linked to by Roger above is the business.

I think the title of this one though, on the other hand, is somewhat misleading:

On reading the title you might think you were getting the whole kit. The description does say it's a weaver scope, but all the same...

And while I'm at it I think this alleged 4t butt is a bit 'iffy':
