    Unusual Makarov.

I was able to looked at and take apart a Makarov pistol yesterday. I have never seen one like this in that there was no serial number or any ID as to who what or where this pistol was made. All steel frame and slide with brown plastic grips with the star on both sides. Very worn blue finish. The only mark I did find was on the back strap under the grip. The letter T in a circle. other wise the whole pistol was sterile. Does anyone have any ideas about this Makarov? From what I was told it was a bring back from Viet Nam but without a serial number the possible sale of it is not going to happen.

If it never had a number then there's no worries. If one was removed, then avoid it like the plague!

Is the "T in a circle" sort of a stylized "T" with one side larger than the other?

It very well could have been as it was hard to see it being partly cover by the retainer for the hammer spring.

Could it have been an Afghani knock-off? I understand they have quite a cottage industry there in various firearms they have copied.
