This is what I was thinking, it's just a pity that I had to sell the wrap No4Mk2 to pay for it as they seem to be getting thin on the ground locally-but not as thin as scopes.

I'll post up some better pictures ASAP.

I can see clearly what looks like 192 on the front lower mount

That looks quite possibly that it's the Dalgleish "N92" makers code - I think I've seen a picture elsewhere with a large N92 like that on the front mount. If I can dig it up I'll post it for comparison.

Where'd he sell it Gil? I've not seen any sold at all lately on eBay in the UK. And Res as said, from the pics you've posted it all looks fine. Genuine brackets are worth a lot on their own too.

He sold it privately, I thought it was a fair price for a MK1 and the combination tool as well.

Res, I think its fine mate and it is what its worth to you and the gap you have on a rifle for it to make it authentic.
I sold my 4T complete with everything matching etc in its chest at the tail end of last year to a Dutch guy for £4250.00.
It was a good price then, but they are going up slowly, where the L42A1 seems to be reaching dizzing heights complete in chests

Sorry I'm a bit late, but until a couple of days ago have been internet-less for 3 weeks (& will be for another week from tomorrow). Res' scope is a real enough HBM Co Mk1 complete with its eye shade. It would be nice to see some sharper pictures as Peter says, but the bracket looks like a Dalgleish (N92 at the front end), & was previously fitted to the rifle the serial number of which is partially visible at the top back end of the central bracket 'strut'. The style of the 'replacement' rifle serial number does not look typically British military to me, though anything's possible, & it could have been done whilst in service with another government.......or it could have been done by a previous civvy owner. The serial would suggest an early production No4 rifle, whilst I suspect the previous number which we can't quite fully make out will turn out to be a 5 digit number starting with a 3, as per BSA in the 1944/45 era. But all in all, it looks ok. It would be nice to see more pix though.
