You have a very rare bayonet indeed and different to to records. Bigduke6 is correct in that he believes that bayonets of the Pattern 1913 trials were producted by Vickers. The gripscales were lacking the two grooves. Vickers production or "pre-production" was also without the oil/ clearance hole in the pommel. RSAF Enfield did produce P1913 trials bayonets (Refer British & Commonwealth bayonets Pages 190 and 191). My bayonet whilst in nearly mint condition is made by Enfield, has the two grooves in the grip scales and and the clearance hole and dated 1913 but sadly the quillon has been removed.

Bigduke6, I had not seen that thread, thank you. I have been away for awhile. I have added a comment to the original thread as the bayonet pictured is more like the Vickers pre-production model (no gripscale grooves and no clearance hole) than my Enfield of similar dates. Unfortunately don't have any production figures. Several years ago now a P1913 with hook sold at auction here in Australia for $7,000 but was in almost mint condition.

Thanks for additional details smith3006. The grips could easy be repaired but I will leave that for the next owner. I am going to take to the Baltimore show next month and run it by a few experts, there I hope maybe to trade it or put it up for auction and see where she goes. I don't see a Pattern 13 rifle in my near future. I have couple of real more pressing enfield related wants for my collection.
