Depends if it has a ZF-4 scope or not. With it's scope, $4000 will get you a "good" example, Excellent is $6000.

Without a scope, he got taken big time. Excellent is $2000.

Agreed. For four bills, he better have all matching Waffenampts and consistent wear patterns. At that price, I would also wonder if he is getting a desireable maker and year block. I sold a 1945 Walther A-block double lug rifle that was incomplete and damaged. The buyer knew exactly what he was getting, but wanted a double lug rifle for the collection.

Although few collectors cross into the reeanacting community, there are some very knowledgible fellows there. Yes they shoot their rifles. Yes they break them.

Marstar charges retail pricing, so you should expect that. It looks to me like one nice rifle was made up from 2 or three rifles that had issues. Whether done in a government arsenal or in Canadaicon over the last 60 years is anyone's guess.

Important question is: do you like the rifle?

I suspect on the used marked, if looking around, you could have gotten a similar gun for maybe $1000 less though.

The main thing is they LIE. They said the rifle is all matching.
And also find 2 cracks. on the dust cover though the bottom hole and right under the rear sight base. nice gun but don't know paid too much for it or acceptable
