    Italian 7.62mm Garand

Does anyone have any familiarity with these? Any idea of numbers made, price? I have not seen them anywhere and can find very little info on them.

Italianicon arsenal rebuild and conversion to .308 in 1971. Barrel would have been new then. The condition of the backsight bodes ill for general state of care. Properly cared for, the Italian rebuilds are very good, and actually more desirable for competition shooting than originals in 30-06.

The back sight looks to be caked in grease...dry grease. The whole rifle looks to have come from storage. Almost unused.
    Regards, Jim

There are several types floating around, maybe 4 or 5 different logo styles. Yours seems to be the most common. Very neat!

I have an Italianicon M1icon Garand made by Beretta in ,308. It is a commercial weapon I traded a perfect Winchester 1917 for it. Long ago...... Gary..

    7.62mm Italian M1 conversions

    Good Day,
Congratulations on purchasing one of the 7.62mm Italianicon rifles. I especially like the FAT marking on your stock. Only one of the two military conversions that I still have retain this marking.
    Here is some more information,

Below are other examples including commercial variants.

The Garands in the picture have been in the Danishicon Defence. FKF stands for Forsvarets Krigsmateriel Forvaltning (Defence War Material Administration). Waffen Schumacher in Germanyicon refurbished a lot of old Danish receivers with new barrels, stocks etc. a few years back. They can still be found in Europe at around 900$.
