mauser bayonet
I have a 1938 german bayonet (k98 near as I can tell) made by Richard A Herder serial number 5743c with matching scabbard. No dents in scabbard. Black bakolite grips with no cracks. Blade has no nicks or sharpening marks. light surface rust on whole thing. leather frog in worn condition with straps cut off KVZ 1942 on back. I know without pictures its hard to say but what would it be worth? I see them on e-bay anywhere from 60.00 to 600.00. Can someone get me closer on value? What does KVZ mean? Someday I'll learn how to post pics to make this easier.

Stampings for Richard Abr Herder Soilingen=clc. I would think matching number £100+ retail.
Cannot help with the frog stamping. However I have a note in my records of a suitable book. Bayonet Belt Frogs, by Anthony Carter. He is a member of the Bayonet Collectors Network. E- mail address tharstonpress@netmatters.co.uk ( hope this E-mail works the info is from 2008).
I can't post photographs either and have been rebuked on the Brengun page!!!!
Kind regards, Lester
