I have the Ruger 22 M1 Carbine (made in West Germany) and a Crossman M1 Carbine BB rifle.
The Crossman cocks by pushing down on the barrel (toward the trigger group) until it clicks.
Never sighted in either one of them but the Crossman will put a BB through one of those standing black plastic garbage can on wheels!

Yeah--I had a Crossman waaaay back in the day. My first Carbine. I think I wore it out/broke it about the time I got a "real" carbine for my 13th birthday back in 1979. It is loooong gone, but once in a while I see one at a gunshow.
On the list for my somewhat eclectic Carbine collection......................

[quote=fn111557;273043]The only problem I had was trying to get the front sight filed down for POA-POI sighting.[/quote
Curious, why?...

I will just reference the old thread below, start at post #6. That explains how I sighted in my M1-22’s and how they were shooting POI about 5” low from POA at 25yards. Had to file down the front sight to make POI = POA at 25 yards with rear sight set at 1 setting vise 3. I have the M1 dialed in just fine, still need to get out and do the M1A1 . . .

I know it's an old thread, but saw a good price ($169.99) on the synthetic stock version of these Citadel 22LR M1 Carbines today. - Bob

After reading this thread, I recalled these rifles were available in Canada from Chiappa dealers, and decided to check and see what they were priced at.
The Cdn pricing varied between $350-$450 from most dealers, but I did find a shop selling for $309 poly stock and $369 for the wood on sale, based on our market, that isn't a bad price. Comparison wise that price is basically inline for what we pay for a basic Ruger 10/22.
I decided to give one a try and it should arrive in a week or so.

Give it a good wringing out as we have had mixed opinions about some of them here. I'd like one too and would value a good hard ride on one to see if they're OK.

I can certainly do so, if I can get it by the end of the end, I will try to head out to the pit and see how well it can cycle.
