Looks like D-Day again. After action photo, notice the three G.I.s have their chin straps on. No ammo in MG, might be Rangers.....Frank

The man sitting down does not have a ranger shoulder patch on him. Can't really ID it , though. Closest is the 4ths patch , but it doesn't look right.

Chris, I could not ID the patch either. I thought it might be blotted out by sig corps. They look heavily equipped and in really good shape thus my guess Rangers?

Yeah, I think that's a rope at the MG gunners waist and then one over the guys standing shoulder. That's not something I normally see.

Reminds me of the pill box in the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan D-day.

I loved the scenes in SPR when the Germens tried to surrender and they shot them. You kill GIs all morning and as soon as you start to lose you want to quit? I don't think so.

In that particular scene I noticed n awful lot of GIs behind the surrendering Germans who might have caught a stray. Also noticed the 03 A4 bearing sniper carried his weapon right handed but shot left handed and leftys seemed well represented in such a small group (three I think). Not being critical, I just notice things like that.
