    Last ORIGINAL code talker...

Thought I would share this, in case it gets buried in the current news cycle. I also have a personal connection, as my wife is Navajo.

Last Of The Navajo Code Talkers Draws Huge Crowd | Wisconsin Public Radio News

He is the last living member of the U.S. Marine Corps 382nd Platoon, comprised of 29 Navajos who developed a secret code the Japaneseicon were never able to decipher.

    Code Talkers

"...Hundreds stood in line to meet the code talker. For Patrick Bradley of Wausau, it was personal: Bradley's father John helped raise the flag in the iconic picture of Iwo Jima.

“I just learned a couple of weeks ago that the communication from one of the battleships at Iwo Jima to the main island, directing that a larger, second flag be raised, was given in the Navajo code,” says Bradley..."

Windtalkers the movie with Nicholas Cage gives a reasonable insight to the methods adopted by the US army to defeat the Japaneseicon, pity the never twigged the USAicon was reading there so called un-crackable naval code for years.

But again the USA was caught Dec 7th 1941 by some very good tactics and had the carrier fleet been in harbour then perhaps WWII could have been different, in Yamamoto's words "I feel we have awakened a sleeping giant" very prophetic words as the P-38's hammered home the reply from that fateful day...........
Like I have said I feel no other nation could have fought a war on so many fronts and maintained production of war materials as the US did.
We in Australiaicon had our own stoush happening with the JIA in New Guinea the 39th saved the day inflicting the JIA with a rare defeat after a protracted battle the tide turned and eventually they were routed.
