Roofus, you're not going to get "vague answers" on the SRDC. Not once, ever. What you read there and the links to solid info within the board are things you can take to the bank. Period.
It's literally the largest and most complete board on Swiss Firearms and Swiss Militaria in the world. Bar none.

Latigo : I beg to differ, sir .
As I said, I went to more than one site and posted to get different points of view on my questions, so I would have as much info to work with, and learn about these rifles as possible. It was NOT to **** anyone off because they happen to be members of the same sites as I ,and see my re-post / repetitive questions. I had hoped for some insight, advice, and help with this rifles, as I am new to them... maybe I was mistaken ??
It was MY fault for not digging deep enough to find that in fact there was / is a small issue with that particular year . I merely inquired as to " what to look for, what part , and where I can get upgraded /replacement parts and any other advice someone might have . I wanted to get as many varied replies with Swiss owners knowledge / experience as possible, so I could decipher the answers and go from there . Instead ............
Sorry this is so long-winded, I am not mad, ****ed or "throwing a hissy fit" , just somewhat disappointed .
Thanks for your past input ....Roofuss

Fair enough Roofus. The search function on that board has literally every question you can think of answered there. When my Dad started the forums on Big Lees website some 15 years ago they began compiling everything conceivable about Swiss Rifles. It's (literally) all there.
A search would have shown you there are only (realistically) two places to get an op-rod. From Guisan, or me, when I have them available.
Anyway, we're good.

And how may I reach you , if any parts are needed ?
Do you have a business, or are you a private party /hobbyist ? I have not yet had time to break down the rifle { it's somewhat greasy and needs a good cleaning } but with a visual look over it seems to be ok.
Did the 1944 op rods have a particular stamping / number on them I need to look for ?

Roofus, we're a business but we don't sell direct to the public. Our website is Swiss Products and the only one of our distributors that carries those kinds of parts is Guisan. He's supplied them to us in the past for our manufacture of the LHO, and we'll be supplying him with op-rods as soon as we've caught up on LHO production.

Now your talkin' !!
I will sit down and read & re-read this entire thread . This was what I was after in the first place , without all the c/s.
I spent 2+ hrs this a.m. cleaning , oiling and going over the rifle top to bottom .....and being inexperienced with these Swiss rifles, it all looks VERY GOOD to me . Gun looks to have had an easy shooting life, and yes the ME is .752 as advertised . Bore is exceptional, shiney, no rough or dark spots, and very good rifling throughout . Action once cleaned & greased , is smooth, both opens & closes hangup free, and she has a superb trigger pull { I'd guess approx. 3 lbs. }.
To this point I'm a very happy camper....now to get some ammo ! Reloading will be done down the road.........
THANK YOU !!

Ok, bud, I dropped off my pics for developing and will forward some to you through your personal email "addy," when I get them. If ammo was available locally, I'd be at the range right now ....
Thanks again....
