About those bullets........

Desksy. I too have e-mailed him with similar requests for bulk projectiles. They really are excellent projectiles. Seems like Baretta Aust now import Sellor and Bellert. They do a few projectiles in .311 as well. Waiting for a reply from them to see whether they will bring in components or just loaded ammo. Sorry I missed the shoot. We will have to catch up soon...

Also have spoken to Austek and are on the mailing list for their next lot of 151 boat tail .311 projectiles. They featured them in a recent Guns Australia edition. The lady I spoke to said they retail for $55AU. She said they have had excellent feedback from shooters.. Price isn't too bad considering that there isn't any around at the moment. She couldn't tell me when they would be in... Nioa were also pretty helpful. Their next shipment of Lapua will have over 100000 of the .311 125 grain FMJ. I have real good results with them in both the 303 and Argentine Mausers...

Hang on a second Desksy I did not say you said anything about the quality of his projectiles Viz a viz "putting crap on his projectiles" I have nothing but praise for him and his response to you is the same one I got 8 years ago about the run on 303 projectiles it is the workshop itself and his ancient machinery that is legendary bloke how he does it.

And why would I wish to order 4,000 of his projectiles if they were no good, don't read stuff into people's posting bloke it gets them a tad fiesty

I don't have access to the equipment or person with skills to make a die up to do this, but if someone is thinking of doing a group run in Australia, I'd be keen to get one.

They aren't Great they are the BEST sadly I am down to my last 500 so I hope he does another run sometime in the not to distant future.

Malcolm is a legend a true old school aussie and great to talk to he makes allot of his own gear apparently but his projies and I say this with respect to the other manu's out there they are for a 303 what Scenars and Bergers are to the effie shooters even the colour of the jackets is totally different from all the rest.

Does Mal still have the same PH No. 07 *****167 as I may enquire what 4,000 of his projies would set me back but I should imagine he would not know when he will do the run for the 303's. better hedge on them Aussie48 I have my last packet as a collectible.

The original projectiles "Bumped" up to .311" and also to .323" were done by Bertram Bullets of Seymour, Victoria. Raw 7,62 M80 (serrated cannelure) bullets from IMI (Israel); maybe Bruce did also some "seconds" from Footscray ( smooth cannelure or NO cannelure (rejects)).

Job was done by Factory Bullet upsetting Presses...not something one would have in their reloading workshop.

We, on the other hand, make CNC-cut Profiled Brass bullets (Mark VII, L2A2 and US M2) from Brass rod. Being solid Brass, they are roughly 1/6th less than the weight of the Lead cored version ( eg: MkVII 174/154; L2A2 144/123; and M2 152/127). Shoot just as well (or Better) than lead core originals.

Is there any chance of making a bulk order from we Boys in OZ to persuade him to do a run? I would be in for 2,500 for starters? If the quantity was enough it might give him the incentive to do a run.
