Question about the Ferris 1903 book
Any ideas why the Ferris book "Springfield Model 1903 Service Rifle Production and Alteration 1905 - 1910" is so expensive? I seen the book listed for $150 and up used, and for over $400 new. Wasn't it about $20 when first published? --TIA

That can happen when a book goes out of print but there is still a demand for it.

It happened just in the last couple of years. Used copies used to be available for close to $20 or so. The law of supply and demand, that's for sure.
I wish Nick Ferris and John Beard would republish it.

I currently have three new copies that've never been circulated or worn. They still have the two addenda leafs inside each. I'm certainly keeping one and maybe the other two, because I don't know what anyone might pay for those two if I decide to sell them. I'll post a photo just to show what they look like if anyone isn't sure what to look for when they're out and about. I wanted a copy so much that I got into my time machine and brought them back.

I've got two copies - one I bought eons ago, and another that a friend gave me. They are useful little books, that's for sure. If any of you have questions about the "developmental" period of the M1903, this is the book to consult.
