    Thoughts On This Ammo??

    Came across this auction.
Got to wondering if these are Rejects.. Due to cosmetics?
Reading the descript.... Surely these aren't 'Tumbled Clean' While live?

    Quote:
Every one of these rounds appears to have minor squeezing on the bullet, where the jacket has been pushed up by the neck crimping.

Sounds like a pretty hard crimp.......... Your Thoughts..........?

    Thx,
    Charlie-Painter777

    Charly,

Some places do vibrate clean ammo after loading. I used to get Cowboy ammo from an outfit that did. As for the crimp, I would shoot it. Maybe not accuracy ammo, but good plinking fodder. As far as price, that's a steal!

I don't know anything about A-Merc, but I don't like what I see in pics # 3 & 4. If those individual rounds were hand picked, the quality on the rest would be highly questionable to me. I even had to send back 500 rounds of BVAC that I thought weren't crimped right, and they replaced them no-charge. Especially, I would not buy these with the thought of reselling them. I agree that vibrator cleaning is probably no big deal. - Bob

Just wondering why Factory Closeout....... Hand Inspected Ammo has to go through a Final Tumble Cleaning.

After a search of:american ammunition inc problems
I Have read enough about A-Merc, to take away any interest I may have had.

    Thx,

Based on personal experiences with American Ammunition products in the past I would'nt have this crap if they gave it to me.

I wouldn't shoot A-Merc ammo for free. I won't even keep their brass when I find it at the range.

Complaints I read covered a number of years and many calibers.

I read some comments from my searches that the bullets had/have a thin very cheap copper dip. Some going so far as calling the FMJ's "as looking like the lead had just had a bath in copper"
Other complaints were the brass was very brittle.... often found with uneven wall thickness. Brass not reloadable. Flash holes misaligned.... Primer pockets oversized, Primers falling out and no or uneven case rims.
New boxes where the bullets are/were packed with the bullet tips facing down in a styrofoam packing and when pulled from the original box the bullets fall from the cases..... Others with extreme crimping that had bulged cases and deformed bullets.
Bullets from a single box measuring really short or long, plus split case necks. Some reported loads very under powered, Some reported loaded as a double charge. Also other reports of major key holing............ ETC

Came across a AR15 forum (from part of my overall search results) members there state issues they've had with many different calibers of A-Merc.

It was reported at one time that BUSHMASTER PROHIBITED the use of A-Merc Ammo, but the link is not up to date.

Here's those comments in this link to one AR15 Forum:
