    4.5K Paratrooper

My local gunshop has a very nice Inland Paratrooper for sale. Don't know much as he won't let you examine it without cash. What I could see is; new parkerized finish, late model features, site, bayo lug slide. The stock is absolutly "mint". It looks as to never had any grease or oil on it as the unmarked buttplate is starting to rust. The thin recoilplate cover is a real pretty blue as is the rest of the stock metal. Not a scratch in the shiney M2 cut wood. I started to make on offer of $800 but I didn't think he would take it.GK

I wouldn't do business with a clown like this guy, I don't care what he has in his racks. All he his saying is your wasting his time without cash on the counter. Well, your wasting your time browsing his shop. When he says no to your $800 offer laugh at him and walk out. Sorry for the rant I just can't stand fun shop owners like this guy. They just don't deserve MY hard earned cash.

I too would be a little leery of a seller who will not allow you to "inspect" before purchase. After all it is one lousy screw on the band to pull it down. Check the stock cheek leather as close as you can and verify it is a real folder. There are a lot of fakes out there so caveat emptor.

He knows perfectly well what he's selling is bogus. He wants money and then you leave. By the time you're out the door he has it locked. I'd never do business with that place.

I ran into a dealer at a gun show (the old Great Western at Pamona in the late 90s) years ago that would not let you inspect unless you showed him cash first. I don't think he did much business...

If the M1A1icon stock is pristine, has an M2 cut, a blued recoil plate cover and an unmarked buttplate it is a modern reproduction stock. If the park finish looks new it is new. If it has a bayonet lug barrel band and adjustable rear sight they are not original to the carbine. I would not expect to find anything better inside if I took it apart. Based upon what we know I think $800 is a very generous offer. I too have no use for this seller. JMHO
