Even though Rick has a severe case of "03 Springfielditis", he can quit anytime he wants. He's done it a hundred times or more. I'm certainly not addicted. Why I can quit whenever I choose...
Yep, I've quit several times. The warnings that it could lead to the harder stuff is just hearsay. As a matter of fact, I've just recently quit again. Seriously, I really mean it this time. No kidding. I'm not hooked... Not me... Nope.
Why, my loving and understanding wife just bought me a present to celebrate my independence. Pictures will be forthcoming of course, but she got me a Rod Bayonet 1903 Springfield. Not that I needed it mind you. Nope. I'm cured of that monkey on my back.
Sigh... Rick told me long ago that I'd be getting into the more expensive stuff. OMG... What have I become?!!!

...just like me, Fred, just like me. If that doesn't "scare you straight", I don't know what will!

I just received my replacement barrel, and it is a 5-44 High Standard barrel with TE of 2,ME under 1, and a mirror bore that set me back $155 shipped. This should be a fantastic shooter!

I note you said you bought your "first" M1903 ... what did it say in Dante's version of Hell? "Abandon hope, all ye who enter..."
Yeah Rick,I already bought another that was a chromed one!
A little update on the 1903,I installed that NOS high standard barrel and bought the finish reamer.I've only been able to run out to the 25 yard range, but with the sight set on 200yrds,and aimed dead on,it is leaving 1 hole groups! I may leave the Garands at home this hunting season and use this old gal!
