Still do not know what it is! A cow caller? Gas alarm for a mine? Too big for a trench alarm. Quite a noise.

Gas alarm...right? A noisy ratchet when you reel it over your head? Haven't seen on in a while though.

I think that is what it is but I have never been able to pin it down and I have looked at a great number of gas alarms. Thanks.
