Underwood with RIA stock
Someone I work with has a carbine I'm trying to get some history on. The serial identifies it as an Underwood though that's all you can see as the rear sight covers anything else (I've only seen pictures on his phone) I used War Babies to brush up on the parts but the stock has a cartouche on left side at pistol grip as described in book but also has the initials EB contained within the large square stamp under the RIA. Who is the inspector and any timeline as to when it was at the arsenal?
I've also asked him to look for and photograph any markings on the rifle and to check the barrel, as my NPM has a 6-43 Underwood barrel.

Gave my friend all your info plus everything I knew about his rifle and a little history of the underwood company and all the other company's so he was very amazed how little he knew. Could be the start of a new collector.
Thanks
