    Enforcer and No4 T at a 1000 yards

I went for a shoot with a friend who is an experienced target rifle shooter at Bisley on Friday. We started at 900 yards and then moved back to 1000. I had my Enfield enforcer with the parker hale sights and my No4 T. I have not shot at either distance before but surprisingly even with my knackered MK1 eye balls I was quickly in the black and even managed to get a few V Bulls!
Now the Enforcer performed brilliantly with standard RG 7.62mm NATO rounds and obviously has great potential over the longer ranges, but my eye balls don’t, I have the original Pecar scope which runs out of elevation at a tad over 800 yards and my question is has anyone mounted either different scope rings with a bit of a head start say +20 MOA or a different scope entirely?
    Any advice?
The No4 T was just a pleasure to shoot with just a sling using Privi 174 grain FMJBT. It was previously zeroed and shot at 300 yards and once wound up to the 1000 yard setting on the MK3 No32 Scope, I was on the black immediately. Just goes to show what a fantastic rifle they are. Even in the hands of a pleb like me I would have definitely been scaring the enemy and with Peters Accuracy international AW in 7.62mm (even though he’s a lefty) on the firing point we had a good selection of precision rifles from the 1940 to present day.

Great to hear from you Andy & that you had so much fun with the two rifles. Let me know when you're back up for Kingsbury shoots & I'll try & get down.

If you are very lucky, you may be able to track down a set of Parker Hale RAHS5 scope rings; these are 30mm, and allow fitment of some modern scopes that have much greater elevation range - but without altering your rifle.

    Thank you Thunderbox
Sounds like I will be adding the rings to my list of other hens teeth items. you never know these things have a habit of turning up in the most unlikely places I brought my scout regiment telescope in a charity shop!

Yes the marking was good Peter, but more importantly I was impressed with your atempts ( succesful I might add) to chat up the lady in the range office to gain a mat loan, it was like having Terry Thomas stood next to me. I had my mat which was good as I ran out of chat up lines with wife Number four.

Talk to Roger about a No4 T Im sure he could help you out.......

You could try the following on your Enforcer

    Armalon - Armalon Mounts

    or Fultons do something similar.

I have the Armalon base and it works well.

You can shim the ring at the back with a bit of brass to gain the necessary elevation - that's what I used to do with my Enforcer and Pecar and it was good to go at 1,000 yards
