For sale solid K98 BCD 4 Russianicon capture sniper rifle. The left side of the receiver and barrel are both stamped with the single Nazi firing proof, with the receiver stamped with the serial number and the receiver side wall stamped "Mod.98". It is all original in excellent condition. It comes with an original cleaning rod, sling and site hood This rifle is in near 99% overall condition. Barrel and receiver have matching serial numbers. Barrel bands, bolt and floor plate do not match, which is correct for these rifles. Bores is excellent with strong shiny rifling. This rifle is extremely hard to find in this condition. It has not been fired much. Has original Nazi markings, all Nazi eagles and swastica are intact.clear and pronounce eagle marks Bore is mind and mirror, bright, no pitting and excellent rifling. rifle will be shipped in a hard case. Combined cost for shipping and hard case is $75. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is Extra, I can ship to CA, but my diller charges $75 transfer diller to diller cost on top of shipping.

    Hello Tom,

I've seen the auction and read the sellers description about the K98kicon, it is correct. It is a completely mismatched Russian Capture K98k that is made out of original parts and it will have all the markings he described.
What about the scope mount and rings? Is it an original with all the correct markings or is it a reproduction? I don't know, you can't tell it from seeing the images and he doesn't even mention it in his description.
Did you even buy the scope mount and rings? Maybe? The only thing the description says: "It comes with an original cleaning rod, sling and site hood."
Did you ask him if the scope mount and rings come with the rifle an if they are original or a reproduction? What did he anwser?

@Badger: Yes his buy was already discussed in this thread Gunbrokers K 98 BCD 4 Sniper Rifle opinon.

@browingautorifle: Yes, it already was too late when he posted the first thread.

@tschie: You've just learned the most important lesson (and probably a very expensive one) a beginning collector can learn. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY!!!
Don't feel bad about it, this happens to every beginning collector. And I realy mean EVERY beginning collector. Maybe we should even start a thread about it?

He's right, even to those of us that have been at it a while. There's a thread around here somewhere about our worst purchase...
