This is a good example of what I call a "smokescreen text":

    1) "This is a hinged 'Band Upper CR413' for the Lee Enfield No.4"
--- but unmarked, so who says it is Part CR413?

    2) "This is the "trials type" band which is hinged"
---who says it's a trials type? Stratton simply describes it as "First variation...found on early Mk1s and conversions". So definitely not unique to trials rifles.

    2) "making it much easier to remove"
---true, but do you need to remove it in normal life?

    3) "you don't need to remove the foresight"
--- neither do you with the standard band, if you are careful.

    4) "I am sure this is not a band from an original trials No.4"
    --- thus contradicting 1)

    5) "but it is not a modern reproduction."
    --- Oh yeah? Prove it!

Buy what you see, not the smokescreen blurb!

You would also have to groove the 2 upper woods to accept the hinge therefore bubba rules if your trying to keep your later dated weapon original, I looked at these and thought oh yeah they made zillions of them because they has allot of trials rifles being produced, get real?
And I should say Mr Laidlericon will or should chime in to de-bunk this item or we could be saying never say never again.......?

I can't add much except to say that these hinged bands were just another variation to us. Nothing rare as such. Not common but you'd see them occasionally on all sorts or No4's. These upper bands were never obsolete, just obsolescent and that is the reason why all of the top handguard caps, right up until final production had a window punched out, simply to accommodate the hinge part.

Mind you everyone knows my views about making something back to what it was originally - and calling it 'original'
