Can't import LE receivers into the US???

I posted a "WTB LE RECEIVER" message in WTB and a nice person responded that Marstar Ca was selling NEW receivers!

I called Marstar and they said I needed a ATF No6 (import) form.

I called ATF and the woman told me that (she thinks) I can't import an C&R receiver into the US!?!?!

Is there a solution to this predicament???

These would be 1955 Long Branch production? There was a whack of them around at one time. Lovely receivers, but for that blasted MkI* mod.

It would be interesting to know why SAL/Long Branch didn't embrace the Mk.2 body, or at least the Mk.2/1 conversion. Perhaps it was felt the rifles would not be in service long enough to justify the change over(?)
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

Much changes, much remains the same.
