Identifying a new to me No4 Mk1

It has the "ENGLAND" stamped under the safety. It appears not to have not been over-used and has all matching numbers.

Would someone tell me more about this rifle please? The fore-end has been Bubba'd and I am thinking of restoring it.

Manufactured in Yorkshire at the ROF Maltby factory in 1943 - Served its time, kept 'on issue' for a few years after the war, then went into storage for a few more years, then sold off into the UK icon

civilian gun market (hence the UK proof marks) eventually made it to the USA icon

prior to 1968 (hence the pre-1968 US Import mark)
Bubbarised, and eventually made into your hands.
