    Odd magazine find...

    Hi All,

When I bought my 6.9m Inland last month, the guy threw in 450 rds of GECO ammo and 11 25-rd magazines. I've asked around on several forums and nobody has ever seen a 25-rd carbine mag. These don't fit the mag well as good as a USGI (a little tight) but they feed rounds OK. I have loaded them and they will take just 25 rounds. My dealer took one look and knew they weren't 30-rd mags, too short. I've since bought 10 "KI" USGI mags for a great price and will prolly keep these for now. Ideas appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Russ

    Simple. They're an aftermarket mag.

I am a bit baffled someone found a need to go from 30 to 25 rounds. What's the point? A bit cheaper to make? Lighter weight? Neither makes sense to me.

The same reasoning to go from 15 rounds down to a 10 rounds magazine. Politics plain and simple. Years ago some places banned 30 round magazines so someone made a 25 round one.

Makes sense, but the places that banned thirty round magazines also banned fifteen round magazines, going down to ten. Twenty five just seems odd.

Exactly right Bruce. If I started telling you the loopholes and silly little things we have here...Badger would muzzle me. I figured from the start it would be caused by a state law of some kind.

Calif passed 930 new laws this year alone. It is so stupid.

I just bought 10 USGI (KI) mags that fit better than these. Was gonna see about selling them, but I kinda like 'em now. I still think a 30-rd mag looks like h%ll in a carbine, but these look a little better. Like Shady said, two full mags per box of ammo! So, nobody has any idea of the maker? They've obviously not been made or sold for a long time, Google has absolutely nothing on them...
