    M38 Value Range?

I know this is like asking what a 68 camaro is worth, but I'll ask anyway

I am going to an auction this weekend that has an M38 for sale. Assuming that based on the so so picture and being listed as a "735 Military Rifle"

If it is an M38 and in good correct condition with a solid bore, what is the range of retail prices this might be worth. From looking at auctions on GB it seems these are currently $250-$400 rifles if they're decent and nothing especially rare. Is that correct.

Dalebert, I think your price range is correct. I very rarely see one that is unmodified however. I have unsporterized a few but the parts are getting harder to find and I probably will not try that again. Salt Flat

In eastern PA, a Carcano M38 won't sell for more than $250.00 no matter what the condition. That seems to be the starting price for all but they end up going for $200 usually. Sounds like yours stands a good chance of being a Finn rifle with SA marks. Most 7.35's are. Sporterized, you're looking at less than $100.

The thing with gunbroker and other auction sites is that people list things for all sorts of prices. The "value" that matters is what a buyer is willing to pay for it, not what a seller wants to sell it for. Check the bid prices, not the sale prices.
