    Smith-Corona barrels

    Hello all,
New to the 03a3's and am picking up a S-C 03a3 47526xx, made sometime in 1944 as best as I can narrow down, It is sporting a next to, if not, new RA 8-44 barrel. Rifle looks to be blued, possibly dark park, but all matching.
    Questions I have:
    1) Anyone have access to a monthly production of these rifles and,
    2) Could this barrel be an assistance barrel to SC from RA at the end of a production run?

Reason in asking, I have found other threads here and about with SC's sporting RA barrel close to the same months of production.

SC with an RA barrel would be a replacement barrel.

Your receiver dates to mid-1943, not 1944; the barrel is almost certainly a replacement.

Sorry to say the barrel will hurt collector value. Finding the correct S-C barrel would be very difficult. This rifle is a shooter, only.

If the rifles is blued, you may have one of the Greek M1903s - a number of them were reblued during their time with the Greeks.

Thanks all, so far, I did find another sight last night showing a 9/43 build date.
I bought it for vintage match shoots, not as a collector item.
