A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I'm still trying to read that import mark. It does look like WA at the end. It doesn't look much like the stamp on my Arlington Ord - now I'll have to get it out and take a closer look! What were you thinking, that they restamped directly beside the first stamp and still didn't get it quite right? Nice pictures of everything! - Bob

Yeah... I think it's a lazy double stamp.

Checked mine and it's about the same as yours. It's just stamped once, as is yours. It says: ARL ORD ARLINGTON VA and totals about 1-3/16" in length. The VA on mine also looks like WA. The only part that is very clear is ORD ARLINGTON. On my data sheet for that one I only have "ORD ARLINGTON" listed as other marks on the barrel. - Bob
