    My first Carcano

    Hi all.

Have just got my first Carcano Carabine home.
Oh, what a sweet little rifle it is.
Condition? I will say good, lots of remains original finish, stock is nice, action is working very good, bore is nice and clean.

    Markings: SC 6019, matching stock.
On top of the bolt handle, close to the bolt body, there is BD stamped in.
Stock is also stamped *** 42, looks to be ***. with a crown or some mark over.
Also the rifle is stamped GARDONE VT.
942-xx is also stamped on the rifle.

So, all I need now is some ammunition, some clips and a sling.
Then, I am all sett for the range

    Thanks.
Is the production year 1942, september?
Any information on who, where and so the rifle has been is welcome.
I got it from an Italianicon officer here in Norwayicon, he`s daughter told me he used it during WWII and that he was in the soft to the last days. That is all I know.
Sadly he is gone, so I can not ask him more.

Might have better luck talking with the daughter again. See if she has any photos or records. With more details, maybe you can find the fellow in some official records.

Nice rifle. Clips and slings are out there if you are patient. Watch the auctions. Ammo made by Privi Partisan if available in your location.

I'm not sure what the zero is of the sights but I have been told that you keep the top of the front sight at the bottom of the V when aiming.

That works well at 100yds, usually. The more conventional sight picture should work at 300m, IIRC.
