That ain't the original mount for that rifle. However it does illustrate the point I mentioned......... If THAT mount came with the rifle from England, then THAT mount sported a UK made telescope. QED!

Could it be possible since it was a late production rifle that it was shipped without a scope and they fitted it with one when it arrived?
