A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. AFAIK any standard turn in rings should fit. Be sure to grease the locking lugs of the front ring before installing to avoid galling.

    Redfield 30mm Standard Rings

M1903A4's were equipped with Redfield Jr. Bases. Redfieled makes 30mm rings in two heights. (Per the link cited above.)
Leupold STD rings are compatible with Redfield Jr bases. Midway catalogs 30mm rings in four heights.

Since James River and all the clone builders use reproduction bases some fitting of the front ring may be required. Naturally the height of the rings will be governed by the objective bell of your scope and its clearance with the barrel guard. Ideally the scope should be mounted as low as possible but not contact the barrel guard.
