Front Globe Sight for Springfield
First, if this is the wrong forum please let me know. I installed a correct Lyman in the front dovetail of my rifle. Even with a small aperture on the rear sight I am unable to depress the rear sight to shoot with correct sight picture at 100 yards. I saw a taller front sight that will fit the dovetail on the front sight. I have a short base front sight I would like to trade if anyone would like to make this trade. The bench rest precision military match I shoot is 100 yards or I wouldn't worry. I can shoot a reduced load but this is more ammo sorting, thanks for looking.

Entry Level:
You need the old Lyman 17A XNA made specifically for the 1903 Springfield, not any of the current Lyman front sights that Lyman makes.
You can do a Google search (or image search) for Lyman 17A XNA, and you will see what you need.
If this is legit (and I don't know if it is) this is a smokin' deal on a 17 XNA:
Lyman 17A XNA Front sight - Springfield 1903 for sale (911371147)
They used to go for a hundred bucks!

HTH,
I appreciate the heads up . I saw that ad but it was closed. A couple years ago I bought 2 of the same height since the deal was good. I was hoping there might be a trade lurking in the ether but if not I will return the sights to original. I was shooting a conventional mid range match and the globe works fine, I just can't depress enough to shoot at 100 yards. Anyway thanks for the suggestion. Cheers, Entry Level
