Interesting Mixmaster on Gunbroker

This rifle grabbed my attention. It is an interesting assembly of major components.

This is what I think I see;
ERA 1914 Receiver
Remington Model 30 barrel chambered for 30-06
Remington Model 30 stock in Standard grade or Special grade, late production.
After market pistol grip cap of some kind.

It would be interesting to know what model bolt was used. I am thinking it would have to be a 1917 bolt to grasp the 06 case head.

This Remington Model 30 stock looks to be in pretty good condition. I am thinking the stock is worth as much or more than the starting price for the rifle. Model 30 stocks are rare.

It's listed as a Model 1917 but without a doubt it's a P14 receiver.

There's an ordinance bomb stamp on the bolt handle so it is a 1917 bolt.

That is a very nice vintage stock. You have to laugh at the "recoil pad" not very soft looking by todays standard!

It's relieved just forward of the bolt handle for the Lyman or Redfield peep sight and with the converted 5 round mag it's definitely a model 30 stock. It looks like it has the Lyman front sight.

I wonder if an owner had an action go bad on his model 30 and his smith replaced it with something he
happened to have on hand. - Bill

It looks like some "whittling" has been done to the comb of the stock, too. My 30's do not look like that. That front sight is the same one that's on my late 30 in .25 Remington.
